A Renaissance castle like no other, Uhuburg is a philosophical, food producing, naturalistic, and celebratory place located outside the Alpine, Bavarian City of Helen, Georgia.
Uhuburg is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With castle walls to wander, towers to climb and philosophical murals to contemplate, the castle awaits you. Spend the day exploring the grounds or stay in a castle chamber for an unforgettable and enchanting experience!

Day Visit tickets are currently available through the end of December. Please see our ticket calendar for specifics, as Uhuburg is open on Saturdays, Thanksgiving Friday, and only some Sundays in the later fall and winter. Day Visits are closed in January. Day Visit availability is added on a rolling basis.ā

Overnight chamber bookings are open through mid March. Chambers are closed in January. Availability is added on a rolling basis.

Join a short tour to the four story interior garden in the main building. Always a favorite!

Gazebo & Zen Garden
Relax in the gazebo (or do a photoshoot with friends!) and contemplate at the Zen garden.

Uhuburg Castle became a nonprofit educational institute in 2024. As a community-centered institute, Uhuburg is dedicated to service through education—offering unique opportunities to engage with philosophy, sustainable food production, the natural world and celebration. The castle serves as a space for meaningful community connection with offerings such as public tours, lively contra dances, celebrating life’s milestones such as anniversaries and weddings, and more. Every experience at Uhuburg is designed to inspire learning, foster connection, and celebrate the richness of life in a truly unforgettable setting.
